The College is currently in Stage 2A and will remain there through the Fall 2020 semester. The majority of students and employees continue to operate in an online only environment. Please check this site often as information is subject to change based on current conditions. (rev. 7/6/20)
All students, employees, vendors, and visitors must fill out a Health Screening Questionnaire* prior to coming to campus. Once the questionnaire is completed and you are cleared to come to campus, you will receive a confirmation number. This must be presented when you arrive at your screening site. Should there be an issue with your Health Screening Questionnaire, you will not be allowed on campus and will be instructed what further steps should be taken.
*Please note that a new Health Screening Questionnaire must be submitted each time you plan to come to campus.
All students, employees, vendors, and visitors are required to wear an approved face covering while on campus and must go through a screening process once they arrive.
Screening locations for students will be held at the main entrances to Aberdeen, Darlington, Edgewood and Joppa Halls. There will be a temporary screening site at Maryland Hall to be used only by those accessing the Test Center prior to the start of the semester.
Plan to arrive at the screening location closest to your class approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of class*. Once there, a screener will verify your class or appointment time, request the confirmation number provided to you after your Health Screening Questionnaire, check your temperature, and provide you with a wristband. The wristband is good only for the specified time and building and indicates to Public Safety that you have been properly screened. Put it on immediately and wear it the entire time you are on campus.
*Please note that buildings are not open for general access and the screening process is required before entering a building. Anyone with a fever of 100.4 or higher will be asked to leave the campus.
Screening for employees, vendors and visitors will take place at the side entrance to Joppa Hall*. It is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3 PM. When you arrive at the screening site, a screener will verify your reason for accessing campus, request the confirmation number provided to you after your Health Screening Questionnaire, check your temperature, and provide you with a wristband. The wristband is good only for the specified time and building and indicates to Public Safety that you have been properly screened. Put it on immediately and wear it the entire time you are on campus.
*Please allow up to 30 minutes to get through the screening process.
The Report and Recommendations for Reopening Campus (rev. 9/17/2020) outlines a phased reopening plan for the College with each stage contingent on local, state, and federal guidelines, as well as current public health recommendations.
Stage 3, a full reopening of all campus buildings and facilities, will occur only be when the United States has developed effective therapeutic methods and/or a vaccine to combat COVID-19. It is also highly dependent on Governor Hogan’s Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery. At this time it is simply impossible to predict when external conditions will become favorable and allow us to consider a full reopening of campus.
Since the pandemic began, Interim President Dr. Jacqueline S. Jackson has provided regular updates to the community.
The College continues to receive questions from students, employees, and the community relating to how the College is handling COVID-19 issues such as availability of technology and internet, and food, family and financial resources that are available. Below we have provided links to some of the most commonly asked questions as well as to services and resources that are available both from the College and the government.
