Rev. Cordell E. Hunter, Sr. has been elected Chair of the Harford Community College Board of Trustees and Laura L. Henninger, Esq., CPA has been elected Vice Chair.

Rev. Hunter, who has served on the Board since 2012, served three consecutive terms as vice chair before being elected chair. Rev. Hunter is a retired Anne Arundel Public Schools educator and administrator. In addition, he has served as pastor of the African Methodist Episcopal Church since 1980, Director of Social Political Action, and Instructor for the Board of Examiners. He was recently appointed to the position of Presiding Elder of the Eastern District, Baltimore Annual Conference.

Rev. Hunter has served his community as a commissioner on the Housing Authority of Havre de Grace; Vice President of the Maryland State Conferences Branches, Chairperson of Regional Seven and member of the Harford County Branch of the NAACP. He also serves as the Vice President of the Susquehanna Ministerium, represented the Faith Based Ministry for Census 2010 for Harford County Government, and is a second term member of the Harford County State Central Committee. He serves as Chaplain for Upper Chesapeake Hospital Systems, District Six, Prince Hall Masons and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He earned a B.S. in elementary education and an M.S. in education administration and supervision from Morgan State University with additional graduate work at Goucher College, Coppin State University, Loyola University of Maryland, and St. Mary's Seminary and Ecumenical Institute. He resides in Havre de Grace.

Henninger was appointed to the Board in 2015. The managing attorney/owner of Henninger & Henninger, LLC in Bel Air, she received an AV® Preeminent™ attorney rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Prior positions include associate attorney at Leaf & Mahoney, PA (Bel Air); associate attorney at Blum, Yumkas, Mailman, Gutman & Denick, PA (Baltimore); and associate attorney at Royston, Mueller, McLean & Reid, PA (Towson).

Ms. Henninger received a B.S. in economics and accounting, summa cum laude, from the University of Dayton. She earned a Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Maryland School of Law. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Harford County Bar Association, and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. Active in the community, her affiliations include member and grants committee chair, Women’s Giving Circle of Harford County; board member and secretary, Birthright Pregnancy Aid Center of Harford County, Inc.; member, former president, and founding board member, Chesapeake Professional Women’s Network, Inc.; and member, Planned Giving Subcommittee, The John Carroll School. In addition, she previously served as former board member and treasurer, The ARC-Northern Chesapeake Region Foundation, Inc. Ms. Henninger is a graduate of the Harford Leadership Academy.
