Get the “degree you deserve” – finish your associate degree while completing your bachelor's degree!
Reverse Transfer is a process where academic credits for course work completed at your four-year institution are transferred back to Harford Community College to satisfy associate degree requirements.
The associate degree is an important milestone in a student's education and serves as a marketable credential on a resume. Having an associate degree can make a difference in long-term success by providing better job opportunities. Employers value the associate degree as evidence of commitment to expanding knowledge and achieving educational goals. Statistics show that students who receive an associate degree through reverse transfer are 10% more likely to complete a bachelor degree once they are at a 4-year institution.
Students are eligible for reverse transfer if they have completed at least 15 credits from Harford Community College AND at least 60 combined credit hours from HCC and the 4-year institution.
Steps To Apply for Reverse Transfer:
Note: Once all records are received, the application is reviewed for the next conferral period (May, August, or December). Students will be informed by email if degree requirements have or have not been met. If students are to be awarded the associate degree, they will be notified by mail regarding commencement ceremonies and how to get their diploma.
