Financial Aid Process
Applying for Financial Aid
To apply for financial aid, students must submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as the FAFSA application each academic year. FAFSA is the first step toward getting financial aid at a college, career school or graduate school. FAFSA provides over $150 billion in grants, loans and work-study funds each year.
Maryland Aid Consideration
Complete the FAFSA before March 1st in order to also be considered for Maryland State financial aid from the Maryland Office of Student Financial Assistance.
Additional Documentation
Provide the Financial Aid Office with any additional information requested in order to process your financial aid package. Students can log-in to their OwlNet account to access requested documents from our office. If you are unable to access these forms via OwlNet, you can click "Financial Aid Forms" on the left menu of this page.
Apply for Institutional Scholarships
HCC Students are encouraged to apply for additional institutional scholarships. A separate scholarship application must be completed on-line through the student's OwlNet account. Visit our "Scholarships" page for additional information.
Student Loans
After reading the financial aid award letter, you may realize that the awards listed are not enough to cover all expenses. However, there are other loan options that may not be shown on the notice. Visit our "Loans" page for further instruction.
